The turn counter says it must be odd — why?
Turning by hand an odd number of times a day means the eggs end each day on the opposite side from where they started, which keeps the position changing night over night. Once you switch on an auto-turner, or the batch is under a broody hen, the counter is hidden because it no longer applies.
Where do temperature and humidity targets come from?
They're the general figures published for still-air and forced-air incubators, measured at the top of the egg, and they shift automatically once a batch reaches lockdown. They are general guidance only — your incubator's own manual always takes priority.
Can I recover a batch I deleted?
Deleting a batch or an egg record removes it from the device and cannot be undone from within the app, so the app asks you to confirm before deleting. There is no cloud copy to restore from, because nothing is ever uploaded.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. Every screen, including logging readings, candling eggs and reading the hatch record, works fully offline. Only the Reading Shelf needs a connection, since it opens outside pages inside the app.
Does Candling Day give veterinary or health advice?
No. The app offers no veterinary or chick-health advice. Its figures are general incubation guidance only, and any question about the health of your eggs or hatched chicks should go to a vet or an experienced keeper.
